Dishwasher

The dishwasher is an electrical appliance without which today's modern world simply cannot be called modern. In addition to saving on the already expensive weather at any time, it also takes care of nature, saving on the most important resource for every living being, namely water. That's why today's topic will be interesting and long, so be patient and read the whole thing article to the end.

Of course, this "home helper" besides having to do the work for which it was created, must also be aesthetically maintained, as it will become a part of our interior. If we are talking about a built-in dishwasher, then there is nothing to comment on this topic, since it will blend in completely with the kitchen and will not even be noticed. However, when we choose a free-standing dishwasher, it is important that it be consistent with the kitchen furniture. According to the colors the dishwasher can be inox, black or white. In this case, your guide should be the colors of the other electrical appliances in the kitchen, because if, for example, your refrigerator and stove are in inox, it will be strange and incorrect for your dishwasher to be white.

What about the size? The bigger the dishwasher, the more dishes and plates it collects. But this increases the consumption of electricity and water accordingly, so it is important to choose the right size according to the number of household members. There are usually two sizes on the market, 45 and 60 cm. It should be known that the first size can ensure you wash 9 sets of dishes, and the second for 12. Of course, you can meet such electrical appliances with a different from these two the size. If your household is large, it is good to get a bigger dishwasher, because after dinner you will not be able to collect all the dishes inside and some of them will have to wait patiently somewhere outside until their turn to wash comes. This, of course, can lead to an unpleasant smell in the room.

Let's look at what is hidden inside the machine itself. Depending on the model and brand, we may find products with 2 or 3 rows. As in my case, there are three rows. The largest and dirtiest dishes are usually placed on the first row. The glasses are placed on the second row, and on top is the place for forks, knives and spoons. However, in the models where there is no third row, there is usually an additional compartment for the forks, which is the most - it is often on the second row. Under each row there is a mechanism that performs the washing. The mechanism can be with brushes or a strong stream of water. I personally would not recommend you a dishwasher with brushes, as this can scratch your dishes. At the bottom of the dishwasher there is usually a tank with a valve, on which there is a special symbol with 2 curved arrows. This is actually your salt depot, which is recommended to replenish when its amount decreases. The intelligent systems of modern dishwashers will find a way to remind you when it's time to add the special salt. In my case, I just unscrew the valve and add salt until the water rises enough.

What is the real purpose of salt? Salt is not just that symbol that we ignore when it appears in red as if there is some problem in the dishwasher. This is a substance that softens water and prevents hard water from leaving scale on dishes. Some of you might think that this is not a big deal, but it is, because lime scale doesn't just happen on cutlery, it can also clog parts of the dishwasher and have unpleasant consequences at work. of the entire machine. However, if you live in an area with soft water, you can skip the part with the addition of salt.

Another key element in the proper functioning of your dishwasher is the rinse aid. If you look closely at the inside of the door of your appliance you will notice a symbol resembling a star or sun with broken lines. It is with this symbol that dishwasher manufacturers mark the location of the container that collects the liquid that helps to rinse the dishes. Of course, your dishwasher will notify you with the corresponding sign if this liquid starts to decrease. It is recommended to add this preparation personally if you know that there is a presence of limestone in your water. For this to happen, remove the cap and pour the necessary amount into the hole.

Now we will pay special attention to the most important for our dishwasher. We will take a detailed look at the topic of tablets, which are actually the "fuel" of our machine.
The location of the tablets is usually in a special slot on the inner edge of the door. You can recognize it by the 5 lines that resemble a shower. Of course, you won't harm the dishwasher if you just throw your tablet inside somewhere, but then you risk that the washing will not be effective enough.   What do the colored tablets contain? If you use All in 1 tablets, you will not need to add salt or any preparations, because this tablet contains everything and will magically clean all dishes to a shine.
What's inside, though? In addition to cleaning and water softening components, tablets most often contain enzymes that counteract starch and proteins. Almost all tablets also contain a bleaching agent, which sometimes has a detrimental effect on glasses and saucers with engraved personal photos or other images. And the last ingredient of this magic is surfactants, which remove residues.
Of course, the price of the All in 1 tablets is a little higher compared to the regular ones, but I think it's worth it.
What do we do when our cleaning tablets run out? The correct answer is we go to the store for others. Never use a detergent intended for manual dishwashing. I'll tell you right now what's going to happen. One fine morning I woke up with a full dishwasher, for which I did not have a single tablet left. Well, I decided that I'm smarter than dishwasher manufacturers and put a detergent with which I sometimes wash dishes with my hands. After 20 minutes, I entered the kitchen and it was as if I found myself at a party with foam and balloons and the DJ was the dishwasher. The only thing missing was the music... This is in the circle of the joke, of course. Apart from the fact that I almost managed to ruin the machine, I had to clean up all day after this stupid act of mine. Long after that, the dishwasher didn't want to run and gave errors. If such an unpleasant incident happens to you, it is enough to lift and tilt the dishwasher to one side to help it drain the accumulated "poison". Remember, we absolutely ALWAYS use only products that are designed for the dishwasher.
Tablets are not the only alternative for cleaning. You can choose from several options, such as liquid detergent or powder. The liquid detergent is poured into the dispenser and the powder cleaning agent can go directly into the dishwasher itself. Both options are kinder to the environment, but cleaning will not be as good compared to tablets. I use Finish tablets and I am satisfied with them. Sometimes I also use Fairy tablets, from which I also have positive reviews.

We need to clarify another important issue that concerns the "health" of our dishwasher, namely cleanliness. How to clean a dishwasher? In addition to wiping with a wet rag on the outside, our beloved domestic helper must also be thoroughly cleaned on the inside. First of all, check the seals on the edge of the door. Very often, crumbs and other dirt get stuck there. Large pieces of food are hidden in a large container at the bottom. This part should also be cleaned periodically. The sprinklers or brushes can also be removed, which means that in addition to being easily replaced, they are also washable. In order to neutralize unpleasant odors in the dishwasher, it is good to turn your machine on a hot program every 4-5 months, as when this happens it must be empty. In general, this is the basic information you need to know.

However, if you are wondering which is the best dishwasher, I will answer you like this...From the point of view of manufacturers and individual dishwasher brands, my opinion is quite scarce, but I would say that I am satisfied with my electric appliance, which is Bosch. Of course, popular manufacturers, such as Beko, Miele, Aeg, Neff, Hotpoint and others, I think, also try to offer the best to their customers.
